Counselling

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the questions you might have about what to expect from counselling. If you have any others, please do get in touch.

How can counselling help?

Counselling provides a safe, confidential space for you to explore the difficulties you face in your life, without fear of judgement. I will not tell you what to do or offer advice. I will work alongside you, helping you to explore and make sense of the choices available to you in life.

What happens in the initial session?

The initial session is a chance for us to meet and talk about what brings you to counselling and what you are hoping to get out of attending sessions. It is also a chance for you to explore whether counselling and the commitment needed, is right for you.  After the initial session you can decide whether you would like to book further counselling sessions with me.

How do I book a session?

To book your initial session send me an email to hello@lauralambert.co.uk, give me a call on 01323 348004 or complete the form on the Contact Me page. I look forward to hearing from you!

How much does each session cost?

An initial session is 50 minutes long and will be at the reduced fee of £45. Each following counselling session will be £60 for 50 minutes.

Some concessions may be available, please do get in touch to talk about this.

How do I pay for sessions?

You can pay via bank transfer prior to your session, or I accept payment by cash or card when you come to your session.

How long do people stay in counselling for?

This is a very individual decision and can vary enormously from person to person. Some people find that short term counselling, of around 10-12 sessions, feels enough to address whatever they are bringing,  while others may find longer term counselling more beneficial. This is very much a personal choice.
